01 — Story
Kiki Barth

She left Saint Marc
with a plan.

Kiki Barth left Saint Marc, Haiti, at thirteen and was on her own by fifteen. She started modeling at sixteen and turned it into a real career — a Bobbi Brown campaign shot by Bruce Weber, runways from Roberto Cavalli to Carolina Herrera, the pages of Harper’s Bazaar, and the Miss Haiti crown.

Then The Real Housewives of Miami, where people came for the drama and stayed for her. A model who can actually talk, a mother who isn’t pretending it’s easy, and a Haitian woman who made it without leaving who she is at the door.

05 — Roots & Family

She never left
Saint Marc behind.

Kiki was born in Saint-Marc, a coastal town in Haiti, and came to the United States at thirteen. On her own by fifteen and modeling by sixteen, she built a career with no safety net — fast-food shifts between castings, long odds, and a refusal to shrink.

When the 2010 earthquake hit, she got her mother out of Haiti and brought her to Miami; they live together today, three generations under one roof. Everything she has built, she built around the people she is responsible for — her mother, her son Shamar, and her daughter Summer.

She carries Haiti with her without making a show of it: proud of where she comes from, close to the diaspora, and the same person on camera as off. The success is real — and so is the work it took to get here.

No flag-waving. Just showing up.

I don’t try to be perfect. I try to be present.

Shamar’s away at college, Summer’s about to start first grade, and Kiki is somewhere in the middle of both — getting it mostly right and laughing at the rest.
